The project to develop bidirectional S-Link for helicopters was selected as one of the defense technology reform projects under the management of the Agency for Defense Development (ADD) in early 2006. Huneed Technologies entered into a contract with ADD for the supply of bidirectional S-Link valued at KRW 500 million and completed the R&D in 2007.
The prime goal of the R&D is to develop a bidirectional wireless data link system that will enable the mutual sharing of various sensor information data (sonar, radar, infrared detection and GPS information, etc) obtained by naval antisubmarine helicopters and tactical information data from naval warships equipped with the Korean Naval Tactical Data System (KNTDS). Huneed Technologies has rendered full scale participation and utilization of its human resources and technical know-how for this project, and will continue to exert its efforts in creating new markets to progressively expand the areas of application.
