In the past, Huneed Technologies and the Agency for Defense Development (ADD) jointly developed the WCS-86 weapon control system which is still operated by the Korean navy and has been combat proven numerous times, most notably during the 1999 and 2002 sea battles in the West Sea of Korea. Since then, Huneed Technologies has succeeded in upgrading this weapon control system based on its in-house technology and know-how and has delivered several upgrade models suitable for mid-to-large sized vessels to the Korea Coast Guard.
The newly improved WCS adopts an open and module-based structure which allows for easy expansion of its system capacity. Also, the upgraded WCS automatically operates and controls the warship guns interfacing with the radar, gyro, speed-meter, anemoscope/anemometer on the warship. The WCS can automatically track aircraft and warship targets (Track-While-Scan; TWS) and remotely control the warship guns even in severe weather conditions and during nighttime battles.
